The Fitsol Fix
Sector Spotlight: Greenfind – Intelligent Carbon Hotspot Detection for Smarter Decarbonization
Organizations often struggle to pinpoint carbon-intensive activities and high-impact emissions sources. Traditional methods rely on manual data, outdated emission factors, and inconsistent reporting across business units.
Key Challenges in Carbon Hotspot Identification:
Fragmented data across facilities, transport, energy, and procurement
Inaccurate or outdated emission factors leading to unreliable insights
Difficulty isolating Scope 1, 2 & 3 hotspots across operations and supply chains
Limited visibility to support targeted decarbonization investments
How Fitsol Solves These Challenges with Greenfind:
Automated emissions mapping: AI-driven detection of high-intensity carbon hotspots across processes and locations
Scope 1–3 visibility: Real-time insights across fuel, electricity, transport, suppliers, and material flows
Activity-level granularity: Pinpoints emissions from specific assets, routes, equipment, vendors, and processes
Reduction opportunity engine: Highlights high-impact levers with carbon and cost savings potential

Around the World: Trends Shaping Climate & Business
EU Lawmakers Approve Binding 90% Net Emissions Cut by 2040
EU negotiators have provisionally amended the European Climate Law, introducing a legally binding 90% reduction in net GHG emissions by 2040, setting a clear path toward climate neutrality by 2050. Flexibilities include international carbon credits, domestic carbon removals, and sector-specific allowances. ETS2 for buildings and transport is postponed to 2028. The European Commission will review progress every two years, ensuring a balance between climate ambition, industrial competitiveness, energy security, and social stability.

EU Reaches Deal to Scale Back CSRD & CSDDD Sustainability Rules
EU lawmakers agreed to reduce the scope of CSRD and CSDDD, limiting CSRD reporting to companies with ≥1,000 employees and €450M revenue, and CSDDD applicability to companies with ≥5,000 employees and €1.5B revenue. The agreement removes mandatory climate transition plans and the EU-wide liability regime, adopting a risk-based, flexible approach to sustainability due diligence. Formal approval by the European Parliament and Council is pending.

EFRAG Releases Simplified ESRS to Ease Sustainability Reporting Burden
The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) released finalized simplified European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), reducing mandatory reporting datapoints by over 70%. Updates streamline double materiality assessments, supply-chain data collection, and value-chain reporting, aligning with the EU Omnibus initiative under CSRD, CSDDD, Taxonomy, and CBAM. The standards now move to the European Commission for adoption via a Delegated Act.
